KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Effective June 20, 2024: During high visitation, visitors may not be able to enter the Grayton Beach State Park. The park frequently reaches capacity and may temporarily close. Closures occur intermittently and may last several hours. Campers with reservations will be admitted to the park when it is closed, but Day visitors including pedestrians and bicyclists will not be allowed to enter until the park reopens.

Soaking in warm gulf breezes while relaxing on pristine Grayton Beach might be the main attraction, but that’s only one aspect of this gorgeous park.


Grayton Beach consistently ranks among the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the United States. Western Lake offers fishing and paddling, and those who want to explore on foot have 4 miles of trails to traverse through a coastal forest where scrub oaks and magnolias are bent and twisted by salt winds.

An overnight excursion yields its own unique experience with a stay in one of the well outfitted cabins or a more rustic accommodation at one of Grayton’s cozy campgrounds.

At nearly 2,000 acres, Grayton Beach State Park is more than a backdrop for golden sunrises and silver moonlit evenings.

Coastal Dune Lakes at Grayton Beach

Lakes along the beach aren’t exactly a common sight, but at Grayton Beach State Park, we have not only one lake on our beaches, but three. Coastal dune lakes are a natural phenomenon that can only be found in four countries around the world, and only two states in the U.S. (the other being Oregon).
